Ohio Turnpike traffic to be diverted Thursday evening near Akron area

Traffic on the Ohio Turnpike will be diverted Thursday, July 9, to move construction equipment, according to the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission. The changes will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to a news release.

Eastbound traffic on the Ohio Turnpike will be diverted at Exit 180, which goes to Akron and state Route 8.

Westbound traffic will be diverted at Exit 187, which goes to Streetsboro, Interstate 480 and state Route 14.

Weather permitting, a construction crane is set to be moved at the Tinkers Creek bridge replacement.

Motorists are advised to follow the detours posted on the Ohio Turnpike message boards.
