Ohio Stadium is getting a WiFi upgrade in preparation for 2026 season

Based on a social media post by Ohio State IT, Ohio Stadium is going through an upgrade with its WiFi. Teams are currently installing new network access points to upgrade to faster WiFi, and the OSU IT department isn’t shy about it.

If you’ve been to Ohio Stadium, the WiFi is adequate, but with over 100,000 fans packed in, it could use better and faster access points to bring things up to better standards in today’s digital world. Not only do fans like to make phone calls and snap photos, but many like to post on social media to commemorate the moment as it happens.

So, next time you go to Ohio Stadium for an event, especially the next Ohio State football game in 2026, be sure to have your phone charged up and all of those socials ready to go. In fact, it sure sounds like it’s being embraced by the OSU Athletic Department.

Ohio State continues to try to improve the fan experience under new Athletic Director Ross Bjork, and this is just one more example. Here’s a look at the Ohio State football home schedule that you’ll be able to give the new WiFi a test run:
