Ohio cities see record temperatures before severe weather. See where

Though Ohio braced for severe weather, with some areas seeing hail come down, on March 22, some Ohio’s cities reached record high temperatures during the day.

Which city set a new record high? Where else did temperatures soar? Here’s what to know.

Columbus sets record for warmest March day ever, Cincinnati and Dayton come close

According to a post on X by the National Weather Service, Columbus reached 86 degrees and set a record high temperature for March, breaking a record set 14 years ago to the day. That 2016 warm streak spanned several days and now holds the Nos. 2-4 spots for warmest March days in Columbus.

Cincinnati hits came close to breaking a nearly 100-year-old record by hitting 86 on the thermometer. The Queen City’s hottest March day happened on March 25, 1929, which temperatures hit 88.

Dayton also his 86 degrees on March 22, which was 1 degree away from tying the record high, set in 1910.
