Officials have identified the man killed in a shooting outside a Cheviot gathering hall on Saturday.
Juawaun Booker, 39, of Colerain Township, died of his injuries after being shot outside the Cincinnati Elks Lodge #5 in Cheviot June 27, according to Hamilton County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kyla Woods.
Shortly before 6 p.m., police were called to the lodge’s parking lot on Glenmore Avenue and found Booker and two adult men with gunshot wounds.
All three were transported to local hospitals, where Booker died of his injuries. Two were still being treated as of Saturday night.
911 callers described seeing someone take off in a Kia after the shooting, according to recordings obtained by The Enquirer.
No suspect is in custody, according to the sheriff’s office.
Cincinnati Elks Lodge #5 said the shooting happened in its parking lot, but it was unrelated to any Elks event. The space had been leased to a private group and the shooting happened before the event began, the lodge said.
