Luxury department store chain Nordstrom is closing down two of its stores by the end of the summer.
The chain confirmed to USA TODAY that it plans to shutter two locations in August 2025. The move comes months after the company went from public to private after being acquired for $6.25 billion in part by the Nordstrom family, which holds a majority share of ownership.
“Decisions like this are never easy, and we understand the impact they have on our team members,” a spokesperson told USA TODAY. “We’re committed to taking care of our employees through this transition, including supporting those who are interested in finding another role within Nordstrom.”
