Now that it’s June, meteorological summer has officially begun and the summer solstice is almost here. During the spring, Ohio saw freezing temperatures, storms that brought confirmed tornadoes, severe winds and rising water levels due to heavy rain.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recently released its three-month weather outlook for June, July and August. What does it predict for Ohio’s summer? Let’s take a look.
According to NOAA, most of Ohio, aside from a tiny bit of the southeast corner near the West Virginia border, will have an equal chance of experiencing normal summer temperatures.
The average temperature in Ohio from June to August (in Fahrenheit) is in the low 70s, according to the National Centers for Environmental Information.
Ohio’s precipitation outlook for June, July, and August
Ohio is likely to experience typical rainfall this summer as NOAA predicts equal chances of normal precipitation for the Buckeye State and much of the Midwest as well as Kentucky.
When is the first day of summer 2026?
Summer will begin on Sunday, June 21, 2026, when we reach the summer solstice (also known as astronomical summer), according to Old Farmer’s Almanac.
