Former Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Nick Senzel signed May 24 with the Lexington Legends, the Atlantic League team formerly co-owned by Reds Hall of Famer Brandon Phillips has announced.
In April 2025, Senzel agreed to a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Senzel batted .179 with two homers in 96 plate appearances this season for the Dodgers’ Triple-A team in Oklahoma City.
“This is an exciting day for our organization and for baseball fans across Kentucky,” Legends general manager Justin Ferrarella said, per the team announcement. “Nick Senzel is a player that fans know, respect, and immediately recognize from his Major League career and his time with the Reds. Bringing a player of Nick’s caliber to Lexington is another example of the level of talent and entertainment we are committed to providing our fans at Legends Field.”
Senzel signed in March 2025 with the Mexican League’s Tecolotes De Los Dos Laredos.
In August 2024, the second overall pick in the 2016 MLB draft by the Reds from University of Tennessee, was designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox.
Senzel, who turns 31 years old in June, had three hits in 32 plate appearances over 10 games with the White Sox, with a walk and eight strikeouts.
