New Concord man injured when motorcycle strikes deer

COSHOCTON − A New Concord man was injured when his motorcycle struck a deer in the early morning hours of June 1.

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred at 1:43 a.m. June 1 in the 15000 block of Ohio 83 in Franklin Township.

Willis Young III, 48, of New Concord was traveling northbound on a 1990 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he struck a deer, according a release from the sheriff’s office. Young laid the motorcycle down and was ejected into the roadway.

Young was transported to a nearby location and then flown by MedFlight to Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. His condition is unknown at this time.

Assisting on scene were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, Franklin-Conesville-Virginia Fire Department and Bradford’s Wrecker Service.
