GREEN ‒ The Green Family Funzone, a family-friendly entertainment center that closed in May, is up for sale.
The business at 4800 Massillon Road offered mini-golf, go-karts, an arcade and other attractions.
Huntington National Bank had been seeking a foreclosure on the property and a Summit County sheriff’s sale had been scheduled for June 26. That sale was canceled when bank attorneys asked that a private officer be appointed to sell the property, according to court records.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Alison E. McCarty granted the request.
It is not clear when the sale will go forward.
According to court documents, Huntington filed a civil lawsuit in 2018 against Green Family Funzone, Plumknock Inc., WP34 Group LLC, Lisa McElwain, Melanie Plummer, Scott Plummer and Mid Ohio Mortgage Corp., seeking repayment of the promissory issued on Oct. 2, 2014, in the amount of $75,000.
A year before the court filing, the business also secured a U.S. Small Business Administration loan of $1,553,000, records show.
The business filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2019 and a reorganization was ordered in January 2021. Under the plan, Green Family Funzone was to make monthly payments on both the initial loan and small business loan with final balloon payments due in 2031.
According to court records, the business failed to make the monthly installment payments from September 2024 to February 2025, leading Huntington to seek foreclosure.
Earlier this year, a summary judgment was granted and required the repayment of more than $1.2 million to Huntington within three days. A lien was placed on the real property and personal property, and it was scheduled for sheriff’s sale.
The business also owes an undetermined amount of real estate taxes, penalties and fees to the Summit County Treasurer’s Office, court records said.
According to the Summit County Auditor’s Office, the 3.26-acre property includes a 2,400-square-foot restaurant. The land and building are appraised at $682,440. Taxes are $15,000 per year.
Messages were left for the attorneys representing Huntington and Green Family Funzone. The businesses website is no longer active.
