The crash was reported by a passerby who saw the motorcycle in the road. An investigation revealed that a northbound 1983 Honda motorcycle operated by Gavynn Patterson hit a cow that was standing in the road.

Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene. The cow also died.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office and Medina County Coroner’s Office are conducting the investigation.
