The man accused of killing his ex-wife and her new husband is now in Franklin County.

Michael McKee, 39, the ex-husband of Monique Tepe, is charged with four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary in connection with the Tepes’ deaths. Specifications tied to the charges allege that a silencer was used in the shootings.

Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37, died on Dec. 30 after being shot inside their home on the 1400 block of North 4th Street in Weinland Park.

Monique Tepe was married to McKee in 2015. The couple divorced in 2017.

Federal agents arrested McKee on Jan. 10 in Rockford, Illinois. McKee remained in custody there until Jan. 20 when he arrived in Ohio and was booked into the Franklin County jail.

Franklin County Common Pleas Court will arraign McKee on Jan. 23.

Columbus police have said a search of McKee’s condo in Chicago resulted in multiple guns being seized. One of those guns has preliminarily matched with evidence from the Tepe homicide scene through a national ballistics database.

Police also said McKee is the person on security footage released on Jan. 5. That person is seen walking in an alley near the Tepe home around the time detectives believe the couple was killed.

A Franklin County grand jury indicted McKee on Jan. 16.
