Miami RedHawks top Buffalo, remain 1 of 2 undefeated teams | Reactions

The Miami University RedHawks improved to 23-0 this season with a 73-71 road win Feb. 3 against the Buffalo Bulls.

The RedHawks are ranked No. 23 in the latest AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll released Feb. 2, up from 24th the previous week.

When MU faced Buffalo in January at Millett Hall, the RedHawks won in overtime, 105-102.

MU is one of two undefeated Div. I men’s basketball teams in the country, along with No. 1 Arizona. The Wildcats improved to 22-0 over the weekend by defeating the Arizona State Sun Devils, 87-74. They are scheduled to play again Feb. 7 against Oklahoma State.

The RedHawks are 11-0 in Mid-American Conference play this season. They are scheduled to play next at Marshall on Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. Eastern on ESPN+.

During the Jan. 30 broadcast of Akron’s win against Kent State, CBS Sports college basketball analyst and former Xavier Musketeers head coach Pete Gillen said the RedHawks’ NET strength of schedule “is gonna really hurt them.”
