Meet Leroy: This week’s adoptable dog from the Marion County Dog Pound.
Leroy is an eight-year-old beagle-hound mix.
Affectionately referred to as the pound’s “handsome little swamp frog,” this older boy loves lounging in mud puddles.
Leroy has quickly created his own fan club at the shelter. He forms strong bonds with caretakers who are willing to be a little more patient and confident while working with him.
Leroy has a bit of a stubborn streak and has been known to try to steal food, so he could use some clear boundaries with his new family. He can get uncomfortable with people handling his collar, so his caretakers recommend a home with older teens or adults only.
Leroy is open to meeting other dogs and cats.
To meet Leroy or any of the other dogs at the Marion County Dog Pound, stop by in person at 2252 Richland Road or give the pound a call at 740-386-6150. The pound is open 12-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 12-4 p.m. Saturdays.
