Luke Combs sets Ohio Stadium concert record with nearly 100,000 fans

A record-setting crowd packed Ohio Stadium over the weekend as country star Luke Combs made venue history.

Combs’ April 25 show drew 97,367 fans, marking the largest single-night concert attendance ever at the stadium, according to a press release.

The show had been promoted in advance as a potential record-breaker. The previous record was held by Pink Floyd, which drew 75,245 people to Ohio Stadium in 1994, according to the release.

Combs’ Saturday concert surpassed that mark by more than 20,000 attendees.

Marking a new milestone

The concert was part of Combs’ “My Kinda Saturday Night” tour, which stopped in Columbus with special guests including Dierks Bentley, Ty Myers, Jake Worthington, and Thelma & James.

Ohio Stadium, which seats 102,780 and ranks as the third-largest on-campus football stadium in the country, has hosted major concerts for decades. However, the record crowd of 110,045 was during the 2016 Ohio State-Michigan game.

The record-setting show adds to a milestone-filled run for Combs, who continues his stadium tour across the U.S., with his next stop set for May 2 in Tennessee.
