Detective Gary Hannan, of the Loudonville Police Department, has been named the Officer of the Month for March 2026 by Ashland County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher R. Tunnell.
Hannan was nominated by Tunnell for his recent work on a sexual assault case in the village of Loudonville. His investigation included a 61-page report and nearly 70 files, including text messages, screenshots, video, DNA results, search warrants and supplemental reports.
The investigation resulted in a juvenile complaint being filed against a 17-year-old and an indictment against an adult on a felony obstructing charge. Those cases are currently pending in the Ashland County Court of Common Pleas.
Tunnell said Hannan is known for his determination, thoroughness and willingness to work with other agencies. He added that Hannan’s most recent investigation is a strong example of his work ethic, even while serving in a part-time role.
The Officer of the Month is awarded a police duck by the prosecuting attorney.
