Not everything went swimmingly with the Cleveland Browns helmet reveal Wednesday.
Although the team may have scored points by getting its matte brown helmets revealed on “The Pat McAfee Show” with Brownie the Elf there to do honors, the reveal downtown on the water at NorthCoast Harbor near Huntington Bank Field, the Rock ‘’n Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Great Lakes Science Center did not.
Just as the tarp was coming off the ginormous Brown helmet, an unlucky passenger on the barge backed up, seemingly unaware of the space around them, and fell into Lake Erie.
With Brownie otherwise occupied, it forced the team’s other mascot, Chomps, into action. Chomps, apparently not too worried, flicked what appeared to be a floating pillow in the lucky person’s direction. They were not in the water long as a uniformed individual arrived on a jet ski to check on their status.
The Browns are set to wear the new “Alpha Dawg” helmets three times season along with their color rush jersey.
