Local ultimate team Minimum Effort goes to nationals

“We do this for the love of the game,” said Minimum Effort Captain, Matt Blansit.

“No one out here is getting paid—we’re here because we choose to be. Every practice, every workout, and every tournament is a commitment we make because this sport has given us so much. At this level, the competition is incredibly demanding, and as we’ve gotten older, it’s become even more meaningful. It’s a blessing to still be healthy enough to compete, to run alongside lifelong friends, and to challenge ourselves against some of the best players in the country. What keeps us coming back isn’t the wins or the trophies—it’s the joy of playing, the relationships we’ve built, and the chance to keep doing something we love. At the end of the day, if we’re not having fun, we’ve lost sight of why we started in the first place.”
