Joe Burrow has become known as somewhat of a fashion icon. But the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback likely won’t make any best-dressed lists with his latest outfit.
The team recently shared a video of wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who got a 99 overall rating in “Madden NFL 26” to become the first Cincinnati player in the club. In the video, Chase informs Burrow of his new status, but it’s the QB’s quirky T-shirt that has caught the attention of some social media users.
The two-time Pro Bowler is seen wearing a black T-shirt adorned with a picture of a cat in a taco, with the phrase, “Tacocat spelled backwards is tacocat.”
Several sports fans took to social media to express their opinion on Burrow’s palindrome shirt, with one X user posting, “wtf is this 2011 a– Facebook humour.” Others called him a “national treasure.”
Since joining the league in 2020, the fifth-year quarterback has garnered a reputation for his bold fashion statements, and he started working with Kyle Smith, the NFL’s first-ever fashion editor, last year. Burrow also had a viral moment in 2024, when he wore a backless suit jacket during his first runway gig at the Vogue World fashion show as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Burrow made his Met Gala debut in May, sporting a blue-gray suit paired with Gucci-printed sneakers, which received mixed reviews from critics.
Here are some other social media reactions to Burrow’s viral Tacocat T-shirt.
