JACKSON TWP. ‒ Police have charged a 24-year-old man from the Carrollton area with felonious assault in connection with a Dec. 9 shooting in a parking lot at The Strip shopping center.
Police Maj. Jim Monigold wrote in a press release that the suspect surrendered on a warrant for the second-degree felony on the morning of Dec. 15.
Police Chief Mark Brink previously said that officers were called to the scene at 8:49 p.m. Dec. 9.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered that there was disturbance between two male acquaintances,” he wrote. “One of the males did brandish a firearm and fired a single shot at the other male.”
He said the shooter fled before police arrived. There were no reported injuries or property damage.
