VOLLEYBALL
Bloom-Carroll 3, Watterson 0: The Bulldogs picked up a huge non-conference win over Watterson and improved to 8-0. Sylvia Haughn had 13 kills and 10 digs, Renee Smith finished with 26 assists and five aces, Sienna Hogue had 13 digs, Kylee Reiser had eight kills, and Josie Burr had five blocks.
Bloom-Carroll 3, Fairfield Union 0: The Bulldogs cruised in a 25-8, 25-12, 25-10 Mid-State League-Buckeye Division win over the Falcons to improve to 4-0 in the league. Sylvia Haughn had 11 kills and 15 aces, Ellie Bratton had 10 digs and five kills, and Renee Smith added 22 assists.
Bloom-Carroll 3, Liberty Union 0: The Bulldogs overwhelmed the Lions 25-6, 25-7, 25-5 in MSL-Buckeye Division action. Josie Burr had eight kills, Renee Smith had 27 assists and four kills, Kylynne Sollberger had eight aces, and Kylee Reiser added five aces and five kills.
CROSS COUNTRY
Fairfield Christian Academy: The Knights had a strong performance by winning the McGowan Invitational for the DIII/DIV section. The Knights were led by Jordan McQueary, who won the race with a time of 15:52.52. Lukas Sisco (9th, 17:12.79), Bryan Harrison (21st, 18:20.51), Eli Herron (22nd, 18:22.61), and Kyle Stark (25th, 18:35.61) finished out the top scorers, giving the Knights a 21-point lead over 2nd-place Lakewood. Rounding out the team was Toby Herron (26th, 18:46.34), Evan Hammond (27th, 18:47.51), Collin Weisert (43rd, 19:36.45), and Nic Wheat (103rd, 22:25.58). Audrey Sisco led the girls’ team with an 11th-place finish with a time of 21:11.66.
GOLF
Fairfield Union: The Falcons traveled to Westchester Golf Course to compete in the Bob Darwin Invitational hosted by Bexley. The team fired a 326 to finish in 5th place out of 18 teams. Eli Wolfe was the low Falcon with a 79, Will Wolfe 80, Ian McDaniels 82, Caden Featheroff 85, Kaden Metzler 92, and Gabe Boyer with 93.
The Falcons placed third in the MSL No. 3 match at Lancaster Golf Club and finished with a 331-team total to edge Bloom-Carroll (335). Bryce Lepi led the Falcons with a 77 to earn medalist honors.
Bloom-Carroll girls: The Bulldogs competed in a tri-match against Circleville and Teays Valley at Pine Hill Golf Club. The Tigers placed first (190), followed by the Bulldogs (193), and Teays Valley (206). Niley Mathias led B-C with a 43, Peyton Courtright 48, Ava Phillips 49, and Kaylee Harlander shot 53.
The Bulldogs hosted an eighth-team invitation at Pine Hill Golf Course. Hilliard Darby won the event with a 352-team total. Bloom-Carroll placed fourth.
The Bulldogs competed in a dual match against Canal Winchester at Westchester Golf Course and won 214-222. Niley Mathias led B-C with 44 and was the match medalist. Other scores were Peyton Courtright 54, Kaylee Harlander 57, and Kallie Kosch 59.
The Bulldogs defeated Lancaster at Pine Hill Golf Course, 204-223. Mathias was the medalist with a 38, followed by Peyton Courtright 49, Kallie Kosch 57, and Ava Phillips 60.
B-C fell short against Fairfield Union, 201-215. Niley Mathias shot 48, Ava Phillips 52, Peyton Courtright 54, and Kaylee Harlander 61.
The Bulldogs placed third in the MSL No. 2 match with a 384. Niley Mathias shot 79 (Individual 3rd place), Peyton Courtright 99, Aval Phillips 103, and Kaylee Harlander 103.
Lancaster boys: The Gales hosted 16 teams for the Lancaster Invitational at the Lancaster Golf Club. Upper Arlington won the event, shooting a 320. The Gales came in 5th place, shooting a 335. Leading the Gales was Ben Richardson with an 82, Bryson Branham shot 83, Gabe Betts 84, Jacob Miller 86, and Jackson Cluse 96.
SOCCER
Lancaster 6, Groveport 0: The Lady Gales improved to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division after their win over the Cruisers. Piper Cupp had three goals to lead the way, and Grace Hampson had one save. Brooke Derringer added a goal and an assist.
Bloom-Carroll 11, Fisher Catholic 1: Behind three goals from Mackenzie Haslett and two from Emily Smith, the Bulldogs cruised past the Irish.
Fairfield Union 5, Amanda-Clearcreek 0: Maddi Mitchell scored two goals, and Kyla Gasser had a goal and two assists to lead the Falcons to an MSL-Buckeye Division win over the Aces. Peyton Hughes and Bailey Osborn had one goal each, and Taylor Smeck finished with two assists. Sadie Schultz and Sydney Lewis had three saves each.
Lancaster 1, Athens 0: Jaslyn Gatewood scored an unassisted goal, and Grace Hampson had two saves in the Gales’ nonconference win over the Bulldogs.
