Cincinnati Democrats will have a choice in the May primary, facing Cincinnati activist Damon Lynch IV, according to filings at the Hamilton County Board of Elections.
Feb. 4 was the filing deadline for candidates seeking party nominations for congressional and other races this year. Those filings show Landsman and Lynch will meet in a May primary.
Rep. Greg Landsman, who represents Ohio’s First District, won reelection in 2024 with 56% of the vote. Ohio’s congressional district map has since been redrawn to eliminate some of Cincinnati’s northern suburbs and added parts of Clinton County.
Landsman’s district has been identified as a must-hold seat by Swing Left, a Democratic organizing group that focuses on swing districts.
There are four Republicans vying for the seat: former CIA officer Eric Conroy, Madeira dentist Dr. Steven Erbeck, nonprofit organization founder Rosemary Oglesby-Henry and Holly Adams, a Republican from Powell who previously ran for Liberty Township trustee.
What did the new congressional maps mean for Ohio?
With Ohio’s new maps, the 10th Congressional District now includes parts of Butler County, including some of Middletown and Trenton. The race has lured several Democrats, including one Cincinnati candidate. Rep. Mike Turner, a Republican, is running for reelection in the district with no GOP challengers.
Here are the filings for Greater Cincinnati’s congressional seats:
Ohio Senate seat
Ohio’s 1st Congressional District
Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District
Ohio’s 8th Congressional District
Ohio’s 10th Congressional District
