Five things: Live jazz and blues, dance the night away, sing 'Tomorrow' and support local

Here’s five things going on in Marion:

1. Find Waldo Local

When: Through July 31

Where: 24 businesses, a full list can be found at visitmarionohio.com

What: Throughout July, test your hide-and-seek skills. Waldo is hiding at 24 businesses waiting to be found. To participate, families can pick up a stamp card from any location with Waldo’s photo on the door. While on the hunt, check out Marion’s local businesses.

2. Live Blues and Jazz

When: 7 p.m. Friday, July 11

Where: Shovel City Drinkery, 181 N. Main St., Marion

What: Shovel City Drinkery welcomes two improvisational jazz artists Don Hales and Mark Kreis. The music starts at 7 p.m., but Machete Taqueria, a taco track, will begin serving food at 5 p.m.

Cost: Free

3. Neon Dance Night

When: 7-10 p.m. Friday, July 11

Where: Washburn Browne Park, 195 N. East St., Morral

What: Hit the dance floor and enjoy a night of neon glow. The whole family is invited for throwback music, singalongs, and pizza and ice cream from Carnavellie’s Concessions LLC & Catering truck.

4. ‘Annie’

When: 7:30 p.m. July 12, 18 and 19, 2 p.m. July 13 and 20

Where: Marion Palace Theatre, 276 W. Center St., Marion

What: The Broadway favorite is sure to deliver joy and nostalgia to its audience. Annie is a feel-good musical experience that you won’t want to miss.

Cost: $13-$55

5. Sand Volleyball Tournament

When: 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12

Where: Cooper’s Bowl, 191 Barks Road W., Marion

What: “Set” yourself up for a great summer evening at Cooper’s Bowl Sand Volleyball Tournament. First and second place winners receive cash prizes. Teams are drawn at 5:45 p.m.

Cost: $5
