The Cleveland Browns let linebacker Devin Bush walk in free agency, but found his replacement quickly, bringing in veteran linebacker Quincy Williams from the Jets. Williams has experience with the new Browns defensive coordinator, Mike Rutenberg, from their time together in New York, when Rutenberg was his position coach.
On Tuesday, the Browns opened up their extra voluntary minicamp with a new head coach, and their new free agent linebacker was on the field donning his Browns colors for the first time. Williams was flying around the field flashing his speed and athleticism that made the Browns want to bring him to town in the first place.
Williams could be a valuable piece for the Browns, helping the rest of the defense get up to speed on Rutenberg’s scheme, given his past experience working with him. It was nice to see the Browns back on the field, even though we are a long way away from actual football.
