Motorcyclist critically injured in Greece crash at Manitou Road intersection

A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday afternoon in a crash at the intersection of Manitou Road and Ridgeway Avenue in Greece, according to police.

Officers with the Greece Police Department responded to the scene around 2:15 p.m. for a reported crash involving a motorcycle.

Police said a 59-year-old man suffered critical injuries in the crash. A 57-year-old woman riding on the motorcycle suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Both were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. The man remained in critical condition Tuesday, police said.

Other vehicle occupants not injured

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash, along with that vehicle’s passengers, were not injured, according to police.

Investigators said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, though criminal charges are not expected at this time.
