Talk about giving someone their flowers while they could still — potentially — drive their motorcade on them.
Some Ohio Republican lawmakers want to name Interstate 70 through downtown Columbus the President Donald Trump Freedom Highway.
As reported by state government journalist Haley BeMiller, the name would apply to a stretch of Interstate between mile markers 98 and 100, eastbound and westbound.
Trump won Ohio for a third time in 2024, beating then Vice President Kamala Harris 55.14% to 43.93%
Still, Columbus seems an odd place for such an honor to Trump.
Harris won Franklin County by 38 points. She carried the city 69% to 30%.
Trump also lost this city to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, then a former vice president.
