Veteran honor. Kent volunteers place flags at graves for Memorial Day

A group of volunteers from Kent American Legion Post 496 spent time May 21 placing American flags at the graves of veterans buried in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. The activity was done in advance of Memorial Day observations planned for May 25 in Kent, including a parade and observance at the cemetery. Kent’s program is one of many planned in Portage County communities to honor those who gave their lives in service to their country.
