The dazzling pyrotechnics of Red, White & BOOM! have earned Columbus a spot on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the country’s 16 best places to go for the Fourth of July.
Listed in no particular order, the list highlights the city’s Independence Day celebration alongside events in New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Nashville and Washington, D.C., among other metro areas.
Hundreds of thousands of onlookers flock to Columbus for the daylong festivities, which include a parade, live music and street festival, culminating in the “ooh” and “aah”-inducing fireworks finale.
Red, White & BOOM! will take place on July 3. The festival start time will be announced on the event website at redwhiteandboom.org. Fireworks, presented by Franklin University, will be shot from the east bank of Genoa Park at 10 p.m.
U.S. News & World Report also recommended several must-see Columbus sites for visitors in town for Red, White & BOOM!, with the National Veterans Memorial and Museum leading the list.
Other attractions the report suggested were the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Columbus Museum of Art and COSI.
