Cincinnati Children's, Christ announce $49 million expansion in Cold Spring

Cincinnati Children’s and Christ Hospital are continuing their expansion into Northern Kentucky with two new buildings in Campbell County’s Cold Spring set to open in 2028.

Each 45,000-square-foot medical office building will be constructed as a part of a $49 million complex that also includes four retail buildings. Together, they’ll be known as the Cold Spring Town Center, located at the intersection of Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) and Industrial Road (KY 8).

Once open, the complex will be each hospital system’s second location in Cold Spring. Cincinnati Children’s already has five locations in Kentucky, while Christ Hospital has four.

What the buildings will be used for

Cincinnati Children’s will use part of its building to open a new pediatric primary care office, staffed by 21 employees, and lease the rest of the building out to other companies.

“Our new location at Cold Spring Town Center will ensure that children in Campbell County have the support and services they need to thrive,” said Dr. Evaline Alessandrini, chief operating officer of Cincinnati Children’s. “We’re committed to providing families with world-class care that’s close to home in Northern Kentucky.”

In a separate building, Christ Hospital’s new outpatient center will be staffed by over 50 employees, offering primary care, women’s health and cardiology services.

Merus is leading the development and construction of the project and begin construction later this year, with the goal of opening doors to patients by the end of the 2028.
