Ahead of the police shooting of Christopher Lindner, a Brown County dispatcher said Lindner had pulled a knife on construction workers and threatened them, according to radio traffic.
Christopher Lindner, the son of Carl Lindner III, was shot and killed by police in Adams County after a car chase on Nov. 14.
The car chase ended at a Manchester estate connected to the Lindner family. The 40-year-old was fatally shot after police said he emerged from the residence with a firearm.
Earlier, around 2:30 p.m., an emergency dispatcher in nearby Brown County said a 911 call came in about a “Christopher Lindner” who reportedly “took a knife out and threatened construction workers” in the area of Homan Way and Brooks-Malott Road off Highway 32.
Lindner reportedly took off in a black Land Rover, driving through a nearby field, the dispatcher said over police radio.
Christopher Lindner was a member of the Lindner family, one of Ohio’s wealthiest families and one of Cincinnati’s most well-known.
The Lindner family founded the United Dairy Farmers chain of ice cream selling convenience stores and American Financial Group, a Fortune 500 company.

Officers spotted Lindner in Peebles, a village 30 miles east of Mount Orab, and began a chase that reached over 100 mph, according to Enquirer media partner Fox 19.
Shortly after, Lindner went into a home in the 4100 block of Brush Creek Road, according to Highway Patrol. Property records indicate the home is connected to the Lindner family.
“After repeated attempts for the subject to surrender, he exited the residence with a firearm at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred,” a highway patrol news release reads.
Lindner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations was asked to investigate the shooting by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, a regular occurrence for police shootings across the state. West Union police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were on the scene at the time of the shooting.
