High school football scores. See who won Cincinnati's Week 11, first-round playoff games

Week 11 of the high school football season is here in Cincinnati and that means it is playoff time. The top four seeds in each region are taking a rest with a bye week while while the No. 5-12 seeds are gearing up to play for another week or go home for good.

Lakota East 59, Oak Hills 47

Lakota East and Oak Hills met in Week 2 of the regular season in a low-scoring, 14-7 Thunderhawks victory. The postseason rematch was anything but a low-scoring affair.

The teams combined for 1,129 yards, 106 points and 15 touchdowns in Lakota East’s 59-47 victory.

Inching closer to Lakota East throughout most of the second half, Oak Hills scored with 7:45 left in the game to cut the Thunderhawk lead to 49-47. Lakota East added a 20-yard field goal with 4:58 left in the game to grow its lead to 52-47. Oak Hills was stopped and on the next play, the Thunderhawks sealed the deal when Ryder Hooks took off 52 yards for a touchdown.

Hooks had 275 yards on 16 rushes with four touchdowns, giving him 2,008 yards and 19 touchdowns for the season.

Thunderhawks quarterback Nile Knutson was 16-for-21 for 293 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Patrick MacFarlane caught three passes for 111 yards and two scores and Hooks had 90 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Oak Hills quarterback Lincoln Schreiber was 16-for-24 for 288 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Cordell Ball caught six passes for 185 yards and a pair of scores. Emmett Johnson led the rushing attack with 16 carries for 152 yards and two scores.

No. 6 Lakota East hits the road for Week 12, going to No. 3 St. Xavier on Nov. 7.

Lakota West 30, Hamilton 0

The Lakota West Firebirds shut out the Hamilton Big Blue 30-0 in the opening round of the postseason, helping head coach Tom Bolden to his 200th career victory.

The Firebirds had a 16-0 lead at the break with a Braydon Johnson touchdown run and three field goals from Kofi Adubofuor. Johnson added a 60-yard run in the third quarter and Tyson Davis hauled in a 58-yard pass from Jackson Smith.

Smith was just 5-for-14 for 101 yards with Davis catching a pair of passes for 72 yards. Johnson had 91 yards on the ground and two scores and Kenyon Norman added 86 more rushing yards.

Hamilton’s Jayden McClain was 10-for-26 for 128 yards and three interceptions. Jordan Bryant had seven catches for 102 yards. Lakota West junior Corinthian Fields had two interceptions and Chris Bradley had the third.

No. 7 Lakota West has a tough test in Week 12, visiting No. 2 Moeller at Mount St. Joseph on Nov. 7.

Lakota West head coach Tom Bolden picked up the 200th win of his career in the Firebirds’ 30-0 win over Hamilton.

Lebanon goes for two and the lead with 32 seconds left

Lebanon scored a touchdown and was successful on a two-point pass to take a 22-21 lead over Fairmont with just 32 seconds left on the clock.

Oak Hills leads Lakota East 34-27 in third quarter

Oak Hills took a 34-27 lead over Lakota East on a touchdown pass. The Highlanders have scored 21-unanswered points.

A victory for Oak Hills would be the first postseason win in the program’s history. The Highlanders are 0-6 in previous postseason visits.

Fairmont takes lead over Lebanon with 1:56 left in game

No. 11 Mariemont beats No. 6 North College Hill 31-12

The first final of the day was an upset by the Mariemont Warriors. The No. 11 Warriors defeated No. 6 North College Hill 31-12, advancing to the second round where No. 3 Miami East awaits.

Talawanda playing like it is 1991

Talawanda leads Goshen 28-7 at halftime and could win its first postseason game in a full season since 1991. Talawanda (who won a playoff game in the shortened 2020 season where every team was postseason eligible) scored on all possessions for 28-unanswered points.

Fairfield and Mason score 34 points in big opening quarter

The Fairfield Indians and the Mason Comets were scoring quickly in the opening quarter. Some big touchdowns, including an 80-yard run by Fairfield’s A.J. Brown, gave the Indians a 20-14 after the quarter.
