A member of the Cleveland Browns’ rookie minicamp roster is making waves at the NCAA level. University of Texas offensive lineman Cole Hutson is now seeking a fifth-year of college eligibility after going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, leading to tryouts with the Browns and Dallas Cowboys this past Spring.
Hutson did not earn a spot on the Browns’ 90-man roster after his tryout with the team, and is now redirecting his path back to the college level. He has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA in Travis County in an attempt to earn back another year with the Longhorns at the college level.

This comes after the NCAA instituted a new age-based eligibility system, and Hutson falls under that new age requirement. After the Brendan Sorsby fiasco, the Diego Pavia lawsuit from a year ago, and more at the NCAA level, who knows how this could play out as the college level has turned into the Wild Wild West.
