Browns lose S Rayshawn Jenkins to a groin injury against Patriots

Cleveland Browns safety Rayshawn Jenkins exited the game against the New England Patriots with a groin injury.

Jenkins suffered the injury during the final quarter of the Browns’ horrendous loss to the Patriots. The Browns’ defense could not stop the Patriots’ offense from marching up and down the field at will. The Browns had no luck against the Patriots in the air or on the ground. The Patriots have exploited all the weaknesses in Jim Schwartz’s system. They’ve successfully gashed the Browns through sweeping run plays all day. They’ve had no problem passing against the Browns. The Browns haven’t had any success with their plays or sub packages.

The Browns now face a more difficult journey without Jenkins. Jenkins is a solid safety who can play in the box or on the roof. He’s a solid veteran who limits mistakes. The Browns will need to rely on their already injured defensive backfield to protect their pride against a still-aggressive Patriots offense.  The Browns are currently down 13-32 against the Patriots with just a few minutes left. Hopefully, the team will leave relatively healthy.
