After yet another successful draft by the Cleveland Browns and general manager Andrew Berry, the struggling organization will now look to build off the momentum heading into the 2026 NFL season.
Cleveland’s 2026 draft class features a massive new group of offensive players, including star offensive tackle Spencer Fano. In addition to adding multiple linemen, Berry and the front office made it a point to target a pair of new weapons for whoever is named the starting quarterback, as Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion and Washington’s Denzel Boston will look to play key roles on offense during the upcoming season and beyond.
However, with all the new weapons joining the roster this offseason, there’s a good chance the Browns could move on from some of the veteran wide receivers. Browns reporter Zac Jackson recently discussed Cleveland’s depth chart for next season, to which he claimed that wide receiver Cedric Tillman could be a possible trade candidate this offseason.
“The Browns like Bond and hope he can ascend with his first full offseason,” Jackson wrote. “But the arrival of Concepcion takes reps away from Bond — and could end up knocking him well down the line. Boston and Tillman are true outside receivers, and it becomes fair to wonder if the Browns eventually look to trade Tillman this summer.”
Tillman’s future with the Browns
Tillman, a third-round selection by the organization in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been an underwhelming pass catcher for the Browns over the past three seasons. After gaining minimal attention on offense during his rookie season, the former Tennessee standout had his best season in 2024, recording 339 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 29 catches.
Despite showing promise in his second season with the Browns, Tillman would eventually take another step back last season, as the 26-year-old finished with a measly 270 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. While there was plenty of dysfunction surrounding Cleveland’s offense during the 2025 NFL season, Tillman still failed to carve out a role for himself within the unit, which could ultimately lead to the end of his tenure with the Browns before the 2026 season.
Now, with newly-hired head coach Todd Monken taking over the offense, and the recent selection of Boston, who matches Tillman’s playstyle, the writing is clearly on the wall for the young pass catcher entering training camp.
