Bower was found by police with a gunshot wound to the head and declared dead at the scene, a police sergeant told Enquirer media partner Fox 19.

During her arraignment Sept. 1, prosecutors said Luther shot her ex-girlfriend following a verbal dispute during which Bower was unarmed.

Prosecutors asked that Luther be held with a $500,000 bond. Luther’s public defender asked for a lower bond, pointing to her having no record or previous contact with police.

Hamilton County Municipal Judge Samantha Silverstein held Luther on no bond. She remains in custody at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Luther is expected in court next on Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. to determine whether she will continue to be held without bond.

The investigation by the department’s homicide unit is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide unit at 513-352-3542.
