The IHSAA baseball state tournament has come and go, and five South Bend Tribune coverage area teams brought home championships across three classes.
Goshen, NorthWood, New Prairie and Penn all repeated, while Bremen won its first title since 2023. While no times or locations have been set yet (they’re expected to be announced Wednesday, June 3), all five squads already know who they’ll face in the regional round Saturday, June 6.
Penn will meet Valparaiso in a 4A regional championship game, while Goshen faces Lake Central in a 4A regional title contest. The Kingsmen and Vikings have not played this year, but the latter won the 4A state championship in 2025.
The RedHawks lost 10-4 when they played Lake Central in the regular season. Goshen plays for a shot at its second straight trip to semi-state in the rematch.
In 3A, 2024 state champions New Prairie will face 2025 state champions Andrean in one of the best regional title games in Indiana. The Cougars won their fourth straight sectional title to get here.
NorthWood made it to semi-state last season, and the Panthers have a good chance to do so again this year when they face Highland (13-16) in the regional championship.
Bremen will meet Bluffton in a 2A regional championship game, and history is on the line for both sides. The Lions haven’t won a regional since 2016, while the Tigers have never done so.
Here’s how all five coverage area teams won their sectional titles, and how two 1A teams fell just short.
