The Cincinnati Bengals and star defensive end Trey Hendrickson are back talking about a contract extension.
The report comes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who confirmed the two sides have opened up the lines of communication again on a contract extension.

This development between the Bengals and Hendrickson comes in the wake of his public appearance at practice in May to give an interview that expressed his disappointment with the situation before he wasn’t present at mandatory minicamp.
Hendrickson missing camp subjected him to fines of just over $100,000, though if it happens, it’s a pittance compared to what he would make back on a big-money contract extension.
Much of this offseason has featured both Hendrickson and the Bengals leaning into leverage available to them during this standoff. But after the team granted him permission to seek a trade that never happened, it seemed obvious the two would get back to the negotiating table, rather than let this bleed into training camp next month.
