Bengals hit key undrafted free agent with huge signing bonus

The Cincinnati Bengals kept the bold streak that started with the Dexter Lawrence trade going all the way into NFL undrafted free agency.

There, the Bengals pulled out the checkbook and locked down one of their top targets at a pricetag of $50,000.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, that’s the signing bonus the Bengals gave San Diego State offensive lineman Christian Jones.

A 6’8” prospect with some possible inside-out flexibility, it’s not a shocker to see the Bengals go get a player with some interesting upside in free agency.

One of the notable things the Bengals didn’t draft was tackle depth while grabbing interior guys Connor Lew and Brian Parker. Cody Ford is their only reliable swing-tackle backup right now, so Jones becomes serious developmental upside for the premium spot, at least going into the summer.

We have a live-updating list of Bengals undrafted free-agent signings, Jones included.
