Cincinnati Bengals cornerback DJ Turner showed up to work this offseason amid likely contract extension talks to lead by example and not cause a distraction.
Training camp, though, always felt like the most likely time for the Bengals and Turner’s reps to wrap up what should be a massive contract extension for the premier boundary cornerback.
Right on cue, it seems, Turner hit Instagram and reposted a funny image apparently sent out originally by his reps:
There’s no reason to think the message is anything but positive, especially with how the Bengals have talked about Turner this offseason. Beyond that, how the team has acted in an all-in manner certainly helps, too.
As for Turner, it was worth wondering if the contract extension talks might get a little tense. He’s a boundary corner and the top of the market there is expensive. Last year was his first real breakout.
But again, how the Bengals have operated as a modern franchise this offseason would seem to suggest a Turner extension is an inevitability. After that, the powers in charge would need to consider doing the same thing with Dax Hill.
