Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy’s tweet suggested that he may be in attendance at Paycor Stadium for the high school football playoff game between the St. Xavier Bombers and Elder Panthers.
“I have been instructed by original ‘Team Portnoy’ member @KyleRudolph that I better be dressed in purple tonight for @ehsports,” Portnoy tweeted.
Sure enough, Portnoy tweeted video of himself dressed in purple and high-fiving Elder fans at the game.
More than 21,000 tickets were sold for the Division I Region 4 championship, which was moved from Mason High School to accommodate a larger crowd.
Portnoy is in Cincinnati for the “Big Noon Kickoff” show before the Cincinnati Bearcats’ game Saturday night against BYU at Nippert Stadium. Portnoy is expected to join the pregame show with Rob Stone, Brady Quinn, Urban Meyer, Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram II and Chris Fallica, which starts at 10 a.m. Eastern.
Portnoy tweeted earlier in the week that Cincinnati “is a rare city I’ve never done a pizza review in,” and he received many suggestions.
