Barrio Tacos Closes Its Last Columbus Location

Barrio Tacos has closed its last Columbus restaurant at 1870 N. High St. in the University District. The Cleveland-based chain shuttered its Fifth by Northwest location at 1416 W. Fifth Ave. – which opened in 2020 as the first in the area – in 2025.

A sign on the door photographed by Columbus Monthly on June 16 said the restaurant had closed. The location was also removed from Barrio’s website, and Google lists the restaurant as permanently closed.

Medley Kitchen to open at TruePointe in Hilliard

Construction is underway for a new restaurant coming to Hilliard’s TruePointe development in the fall of 2026. Medley Kitchen will incorporate global flavors, served in a style to encourage mixing and matching.

Expect offerings such as tapas, dim sum and mezze dishes. The project is operated by restaurant and hospitality company Culinary Collectives, which is led by Derek Bush, whose previous industry experience includes work with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and Cameron Mitchell Premier Events, according to Bush’s LinkedIn profile.

The restaurant will initially open for dinner service, and will offer a full beverage and cocktail program. Follow Medley’s Instagram account for updates on the opening.
