The Akron Police Department and Summit County Sheriff’s Office are seeking a man suspected of stealing a car that had two sleeping children in it.
The car was stolen July 7 outside of the Dollar General at 588 E. Exchange St., just east of state Route 8.
The vehicle and children were recovered on Spicer Street, Akron police said in a Facebook post.
The thief fled west on foot and was photographed on several city cameras.
Tips from the public helped identify the man, police said July 10.
The suspect, Mark Bromelow, 36, whose last known address was on Helen Street in Barberton, was already wanted on a burglary warrant from the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 330-643-2121 or Akron police at 330-375-2530.
