School districts across the Akron area announced closures and delays Feb. 23 after a weekend winter storm left snow-covered roads and hazardous travel conditions across Northeast Ohio.
The National Weather Service had issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the region through early Tuesday, warning of accumulating snow and difficult travel that could affect the start of the school week.

The University of Akron will remain open Monday, Feb. 23, with classes and campus operations continuing as scheduled.

Kent State University also announced it will remain open, with normal operations planned despite the cold weather advisory.
