Acme closing Parma location as it cuts back all store hours for winter

Akron-based Acme Fresh Market is exiting Cuyahoga County with the closure of its Parma store as it is reducing all of its locations’ hours for the winter.

The Parma store, at 1225 Pleasant Valley Road, will end its grocery operations at the end of the day Dec. 1, Acme Vice President of Marketing Katie Swartz confirmed via email.

“The Parma store location’s financial performance compelled the decision,” Swartz said.

The store’s pharmacy will continue operating through Dec. 15, Swartz said. Pharmacy hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, she said.

Acme leases the Parma store from Pleasant Valley Shopping Center Ltd, according to Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office records.

New winter hours start at Acme

The new winter hours for Acme’s stores are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the week, Swartz said. The hours took effect Nov. 30, the grocery chain shared on social media.

“With shorter days and colder temps, we will be closing an hour earlier,” Acme posted on Facebook.

Hours for grocery pickup and delivery are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Swartz said, adding that customers can shop on acmestores.com 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All Acme locations have pharmacies that are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Swartz said.

“Acme Fresh Market continues to offer low prices, friendly service and the fastest checkout in town at our 16 locations in Summit, Stark, Portage and Medina counties,” Swartz said.
