No information was provided in the release on the condition of the person who was stabbed.

On Sunday, officers went to the parking lot of the 3303 Crompond Road shopping area to investigate a reported stabbing, the release said. A suspect matching a description tried to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended, according to the police.

The police said the suspect was in possession of the knife when arrested.
