Where do I vote? Guide to Dutchess County's June primary poll sites

The June 23 primary election is coming up and will determine who will be on the ballot in the Nov. 3 general election.

If you’re looking to check where your poll site is, you’re in the right spot.

From time to time, these centers may change, and according to the Dutchess County Board of Elections, poll site changes have been made for 2026.

To vote in a primary election, you must be enrolled in one of the parties recognized in New York — Democratic, Republican, Conservative or Working Families — and that party must be having a primary.

Only Democrats are having primaries in Dutchess County this June, according to the Dutchess County Board of Elections.

For the 2026 elections, many offices will be up for election again this year in Dutchess County. In December 2023, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed Chapter 741 of the Laws of 2023, shifting elections for local offices to even-numbered years.

Dutchess County Legislature seats are up for election again, as well as any two-year term town offices up last year, according to an email statement from Democratic Elections Commissioner Lisa Jessup. Those elected to a four-year term in 2025 and subject to even-year election law will serve their term until 2028 instead of 2029.

However, Dutchess County cities, including Beacon and Poughkeepsie, and villages are not subject to even-year election law, nor are judges, the Dutchess County Sheriff, Dutchess County District Attorney and the Dutchess County Clerk.

If you are not already registered to vote, register online at the New York State Board of Elections website, elections.ny.gov.

If you’re unsure which town you reside in, visit the New York State Board of Elections website and enter your county, last name, first name, date of birth and zip code at voterlookup.elections.ny.gov.

Here’s where Dutchess County voters will cast their ballot this year, based on the town or city they live in.
