The New York Jets special teams unit had a historic game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10, which led to the team taking their second-straight win.
The Jets (2-7) won in 27-20 fashion over the Browns (2-7) at MetLife Stadium. Two of their touchdowns came via returns on special teams.
Fittingly enough, punt returner Isaiah Williams had a 74-yard score on the day the team honored the late Nick Mangold. The Jets legend wore No. 74 when he was on the team.
Earlier on, Kene Nwangwu had a 99-yard kick return touchdown for New York as well.
Nwangwu has consistently impressed as a returner with the Green and White since he joined the team in 2024. He credited his and Williams’ successes against the Browns to the special teams unit as a whole.
“It’s an elite buy-in,” Nwangwu said. “It’s a very selfless team and I think that’s why we’re finding a lot of success.”
Williams noted that the roller coaster of the season the Jets have had, combined with the 2025 NFL trade deadline, was added motivation as well.
“It was a lot of emotions with that being my first return touchdown in my life,” Williams said. “How things have turned around these last two weeks? There was a lot of emotion with that, too.”
“Me and Kene, we took that personally,” Williams added.
