Westchester closes three beaches Sept. 8 because of bacterial contamination

Avoid the water at beaches in Mamaroneck, New Rochelle and Rye on Monday, Sept. 8, which Westchester officials said are closed because of bacterial contamination.

The contamination source is road runoff brought by nearly 0.623 inches of rainfall over the past 24 hours, a county news release said.
