Voting is now open for the May 4-May 9 South Bend Tribune Athlete of the Week poll, with no restrictions until the poll closes Thursday, May 14 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Below is a list of 15 nominees from 15 different South Bend Tribune coverage area schools and four different sports, listed in alphabetical order by school.
Ryder Richard, Brandywine baseball
The senior compiled two home runs, 11 hits, six RBIs, five runs, five doubles, three stolen bases and three walks as the Bobcats went 6-1 last week.
Emma Kincaid, Bremen track and field
The senior set a school record in the 200-meter dash May 7, finishing in 25.74 seconds. The previous record holder was Kincaid’s mother, Kim, at 25.97 seconds.
Reese Berry, Buchanan softball
The freshman combined for 13 RBIs, three home runs, eight runs, nine hits, two doubles and a triple in four wins for the Bucks last week.
Brenden Divido, Elkhart golf
The sophomore finished in second individually at the IHSAA Spring Preview May 9 in Carmel, shooting just one over par with a 73. The Lions, as a team, finished 23 strokes over par to earn fifth place.
Braxton Cline, Goshen baseball
The senior compiled 10 runs, nine hits, nine RBIs, six stolen bases, four walks, three doubles and a home run as the RedHawks went 4-0 during the week.
Lucas Kreske, LaVille golf
The freshman shot a career-best 36 May 6 against Knox, taking home individual medalist honors. He also was the individual medalist May 9 at the Marshall County Invite with an 81.
Karmen Frazier, Mishawaka softball
The senior hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, in a 23-7 conference win at Warsaw May 4. The Cavemen hit a school record eight home runs in the game, including three in a row. Six different players homered, including two more from Millie Bultinck.
Ryne O’Hara, Mishawaka Marian baseball
The senior hit the game-winning RBI double in an extra-inning victory vs. New Prairie May 5.
Sullivan Kress, New Prairie baseball
The senior pitched seven shutout innings vs. Marian May 5, striking out 13 batters, walking three and allowing three hits.
Alli Steele, Northridge track and field
The junior set a school record in the high jump at 5-4.5 feet May 5.
Easton Masten, Penn softball
The sophomore hit three home runs, including a grand slam, with eight RBIs in a win May 5 against Elkhart.
Bradford Washington, South Bend Riley volleyball
The junior compiled 38 kills and 20 digs in two matches, first against Elkhart May 5 then against South Bend Adams May 7.
Matt Champlin, South Bend Saint Joseph track and field
The junior broke his own school record in the pole vault May 6 at 14-09 feet against Elkhart.
Adriana Swanson, South Bend Washington track and field
The senior defending state champion set a new PR in the 100-meter hurdles on senior night May 6, finishing in 13.82 seconds after winning the state title last June in 13.83 seconds.
Drew Bingamon, Triton baseball
The senior pitched a complete game shutout vs. Winamac May 7, striking out 11 batters, allowing just three hits and one walk. In three games last week, Bingamon had five hits, three runs, two RBIs, two stolen bases, two doubles, a triple and a walk.
