After a rousing Walmart cheer, the celebration of the newly remodeled store in Macedon kicked off with donations, check presentations to worthy causes, food trucks and music — and, of course, shopping.
The remodel, which started in January, includes transformed departments such as updated vision and pharmacy departments, more apparel brands and expansion of online pickup and delivery. New digital touchpoints throughout the store help communicate products and services Walmart offers online through the use of QR codes and digital screens.

The reconfigured store layout also allows for more space for customers to explore.
Store Manager Melody Cruz thanked staff and customers for enduring the process during the celebration June 13.
“It’s not an easy transition,” Cruz said, but noting the hard work all paid off.
The new-look store also features a mural of Macedon attractions, diversity and culture, which was designed and illustrated by artist Elsa Gonzales De La Cruz.
