The budget was approved by voters 1,467 to 1,017, district officials said. Voters also approved a $1,129,00 bond, 1,478-995, to purchase four large diesel-powered buses and two wheelchair lift gas-fueled buses, as well as a $1,567,977 spending plan for the Southeast Steuben County Library, 1,549-940.

Three members were elected of the C-PP Board of Education, Chris Walters, Lyndsie Guy and Tabitha Treacy.

Across the state, preliminary results show that approximately 95 percent of school budgets passed statewide, according to the New York State United Teachers union.

“Once again, New Yorkers made their voices heard: public schools matter. Across the state, voters chose to invest in the schools that bring communities together, create opportunities for kids, and help ensure every child has the support they need to succeed,” stated New York State United Teachers President Melinda Person.

“We’re grateful to the New Yorkers who continue to believe in the promise of public education — and in the educators, school staff and families who make that promise real every day.”
